North Macedonia
The country was identified as a potential EU member at the 2003 Thessaloniki European Council Summit. North Macedonia applied for EU membership in March 2004 and achieved candidate status in December 2005.
Our technical expertise is delivered through targeted horizontal and chapter-specific support, in accordance with the priorities outlined by the beneficiary and the EU framework.
The programme is currently engaged in delivering horizontal support throughout the screening phase as well as providing dedicated assistance for selected Chapters under Cluster 2 Internal Market (i.e. competition policy).
This comprehensive approach ensures that we address critical areas of development, guiding beneficiaries towards effective implementation and tangible outcomes in key strategic domains.
