Skopje, 5 March 2025 – The Expert Mission on Drafting Negotiating Positions for Cluster 1 – Fundamentals was successfully concluded in Skopje on 4 and 5 March 2025. 

This initiative, funded by the Kingdom of Norway through the Knowledge for Reform Action project and Sweden and Switzerland through the Support to European Integration of North Macedonia project, and implemented by UNOPS represents a significant step towards enhancing North Macedonia’s negotiation capacities in line with the latest EU accession methodologies.

The mission brought together key stakeholders from government institutions and experts in European integration to refine negotiation strategies and strengthen institutional preparedness. Comprehensive briefings and strategy discussions were held with key stakeholders along with the targeted training sessions on drafting negotiation positions, with a particular focus on Chapter 5 – Public Procurement. 

The meetings served as an excellent platform for the exchange of comparative experiences and best practices from the region to enhance North Macedonia’s negotiation framework.
