Programme meeting with Kosovo's First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi

On February 27th, 2024, the UNOPS Austria team led by Jochen Penker, Chief Technical Adviser met with Kosovo*'s First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, in Pristina to discuss the latest progress on EU integration support delivered through the Norway/UNOPS Knowledge for Reform Action (K4R) program:

✔️ Energy Advisory Services targeted to establish a training and certification system of renewable energy technology installers for an accelerated energy system transition;
✔️Legal support to align Kosovo's laws with EU Chapter 27 standards, covering sustainable water management financing, forest protection, hunting regulations, and wildlife conservation directives.

Expanding its technical support, the UNOPS led program will also assist with implementing the Western Balkans' Common Regional Market and Green Agenda Action Plans.

🤝 UNOPS remains steadfast in its support for Kosovo*'s EU integration journey, working hand-in-hand with local authorities and international partners to jointly achieve this goal.
